Sunashio Bridge is built
In March 1973 (Shōwa 48), Sunashio Bridge was built over the Akebonokita Canal, linking Shiomi 2-chōme with Shinsuna 1-chōme.
According to the ward's bridge register, Sunashio Bridge (read "Sunashio") is a three-span steel girder bridge 90.5 m long, completed in March Shōwa 48. About 50 years later, its superstructure is being replaced and its substructure strengthened, in works scheduled from March 2026 to March 2030.
